Don’t Waste It! is an educator guide about solid waste management with lessons for all ages. It’s a collaborative project across North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. We wish to help current and future educators across the southeast understand the systems for municipal solid waste, landfills, material recovery facilities, recycling, and composting in their state & provide them with resources and lessons to share this knowledge with students.

Cleanup registration and details

Green Steps is excited to announce that we are officially hosting Chattanooga's annual Clean and Green event for 2019.

Clean and Green is Downtown Chattanooga's annual beautification and cleanup event. This is your day to give back in your downtown Chattanooga.

When: April 27th, 2019 at 9:00 am

Where: Miller Plaza

Who: In previous years, River City Company has done a tremendous job hosting Clean and Green. This year they are passing the torch to Green Steps and we are beyond excited to continue this beloved tradition.

For our March cleanup, we will be continuing our Sale Creek cleanup (and removing all the litter this time!) . It's a big job, so invite everyone you can! Food, supplies, and gloves will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes :) see y'all out there!

For our February cleanup, we are doing something a bit different! instead of doing a singular cleanup, we have decided to do a "clean your local park" cleanup.

For this cleanup all you have to do is sign up through the link below:

you will receive a supplies package from us before the date of the cleanup and then on the day of the cleanup, just go to your local park or neighborhood and pick up litter!

If you need us to dispose of the litter you collected, please let us know ahead of time, and be sure to log your litter at greenstepsapp.com for Amazon gift cards!

Be careful and have fun, y'all, we will try to visit all the parks during the cleanup to say hello and take some pictures of you lovely folks.

For our January cleanup, we are cleaning up Renaissance park! We will meet at the entrance of Ren park (coming from coolidge park) at 10 am.

Fall is finally here! and what a better time to get photos of the whole family all while supporting Green Steps! The talented and wonderful, Simone Madsen will be doing sets of three family portraits for $40.00(15-20 minute time slots). All proceeds go towards our existing programs, and towards expanding our programs to nearby areas.
